About Presidio Golf Course

Located within a national park, San Francisco’s Presidio Golf Course is renowned for its spectacular forest setting, as well as its challenging play. Once restricted to military officers and private club members, today the 18-hole course is open to the public. Presidio G.C. offers a full service restaurant, a driving range and practice facility, and an award winning golf shop that offers the latest in golf equipment and apparel. Presidio Golf Course is a contributing feature of the Presidio’s National Historic Landmark status. It is also notable for its environmentally sensitive management practices.

The Course

God shaped this land to be a golf course. I simply followed nature.
– John Lawson, designer of the first course

Presidio Golf Course is built on a variety of terrains. Holes are constructed over a base of adobe clay, rock, sand, or a combination of all three. The early Presidio Golf Course was short, but challenging. Players were often shocked by the level of difficulty and natural obstacles. Lawson Little, stamped by Golf Magazine as the greatest match player in the game’s history, said, “I have played the best courses here and abroad, but none more enjoyable than my home course of Presidio. I learned how to strike the ball from every conceivable lie. Presidio demands accuracy, but being a long hitter, I also had to learn how to hook or fade around trees. I had the reputation of being a strong heavy-weather golfer; well, Presidio has powerful wind, rain, fog, sudden gusts, and sometimes all four on any given round.”

Environmental Sensitivity

Presidio Golf Course has been recognized as a leader in environmentally sensitive golf course management, winning the 2001 “Environmental Leader in Golf Award”. Since 2000, the course has reduced overall pesticide use by approximately 50%, and currently uses approximately 75% less pesticide than private courses in San Francisco. The course also received certification from Audubon International as a partner in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program in 2003.

The course uses an innovative form of pest management and turf management called compost tea. “Compost tea” is a solution made by soaking compost in water to extract and increase the beneficial organisms present in the compost. It is then sprayed over the greens. The result is turf with longer root growth and less plant disease fungi.

Step-by-Step: How to Use a BIN to PBP Online Converter

Let us assume you have found a reputable online tool. Here is the general workflow.

Step 1: Prepare your files. Ensure you have both the .BIN and the .CUE file in the same folder. If you have multiple BINs (e.g., Game (Track 1).bin, Game (Track 2).bin), you must have a single CUE file that references them.

Step 2: Upload the CUE file. Most converters ignore the BIN manually. You upload the CUE sheet because it tells the converter where the data tracks and audio tracks are located. Step-by-Step: How to Use a BIN to PBP

Step 3: Add Metadata (Optional). Good online converters allow you to add:

  • Game Title (e.g., Metal Gear Solid)
  • Publisher (Konami)
  • Save File ID (Usually SLUS or SCUS codes found online)
  • Custom Icon: Upload a .PNG image for the PSP menu.

Step 4: Compress and Convert. Click the "Convert" button. If it is a local (Wasm) converter, the green bar will fill rapidly. If it is a server converter, wait for the upload and processing.

Step 5: Download and Rename. Download the resulting EBOOT.PBP. Rename it immediately to GameName.PBP so you know which game it is.

Inputs required

  • BIN file: the raw binary image (e.g., game.bin).
  • Optional CUE file: alignment and track info for multi-track discs (recommended for PS1 games).
  • Optional ICON0.PNG, PARAM.SFO, PIC0.PNG, and other metadata files if you want a custom title/logo/metadata.
  • Title and version fields (some converters let you set these).

How to Choose the Best Bin to PBP Online Converter

Not all online converters are created equal. When searching for a reliable tool, look for these features:

  • File Size Limit: Some free converters cap uploads at 200 MB. Since PSX games can be 700 MB, you need a tool that handles large files.
  • CUE File Support: A proper converter should accept both BIN and CUE files to ensure correct audio tracks and CD layout.
  • No Malware/Pop-ups: Avoid sketchy sites loaded with intrusive ads or fake download buttons.
  • Output Options: The best converters allow you to set game IDs, compression levels, and add custom images.
  • Privacy Policy: Ensure the tool deletes your files from their server automatically after conversion (usually within 1-24 hours).

Can You Trust an Online Converter? (Security Check)

Before using any free online converter, you must be cautious. A legitimate BIN to PBP service should:

  1. Delete your files immediately after processing (check their privacy policy).
  2. Use HTTPS encryption to secure your upload.
  3. Not request personal data or payment for basic conversion.

A critical warning: Never upload copyrighted ROMs you do not own the license to. Always use tools to convert backups of games you have physically purchased.
